The Spedale degli Innocenti (Massacre of the Innocents) was Europe's first orphanage.  It was constructed in 1444 by Brunelleschi. The Giambologna statue located in front of the building is of Duke Ferdinando. This statue was created by Tacca in 1608 and can be found in the San Marco District of Firenza Italia (Florence).
